Perhaps you are like me and have a gazillion DIY Kitchen Pins on Pinterest, dreaming of one day updating your own kitchen. You see all of these Pins and wonder… ‘Is this something I can really do?’ I am happy to report that it totally is!
This bright kitchen was a former model home 26 years ago and had not been taken care of over time. The cabinets were worn and needed some TLC, but functionally they all worked well. Fortunately, a facelift was all they really needed. Click here for a step-by-step guide to painting your cabinets white!
Finally the backsplash…well, we might have got in over our heads here but luckily we have handy friends that helped make this backsplash a piece of art. Click here for more details on our backsplash extravaganza!
After a little paint on the kitchen walls to tie in the grey tones, we could not be more happy with how it turned out! Click here for Painting Your Kitchen Walls Grey!
While I am not writing a post on picking your countertops, we went with beautiful grey and black granite countertop from a LOCAL granite company. The local granite company came in $1,000 less than any of the national chain home stores, and their price included an espresso under-mount sink, plumbing service to install the sink and removal of the old countertop. If you are local in Colorado, check out Green Acres Granite. If you are outside of Colorado, I would highly recommend getting quotes from local countertop stores to find what they offer.
If you are thinking about updating your old kitchen, know that if we could do it as beginner DIYers, you can totally do it too!
