Happy Sunday everyone!  After watching the HGTv show “Fixer Upper” last night for the first time, I’m already hooked! If you haven’t watched it you should. Married couple, Chip and Joanna (fellow Baylor alum too!), are so talented and have such a eye for design. Chip works the real estate and remodeling/construction side of their venture, and Joanna designs the entire space from architecture to decorating. They offer new homeowners the full service when buying a home. (Not to mention they are so cute together and funny too!) They also own a store in Waco, TX called Magnolia Market which you can check out on their website too. I just love watching what they come up with and am so excited that they have experienced such success from venturing out on their own that I wanted to share with you in case you hadn’t seen them yet.

The episode I saw last night (check out the full before & afters here), was so inspiring that I wanted to share some of their pictures with you.  (All of these photos are credited to Magnolia Homes.)  I love the colors Joanna uses and the atmosphere she creates with the textures.

Magnolia Market Fixer Upper Episode 2And aren’t those wood floors to die for?! Maybe one day I’ll convince Shawn that we can stain our hard woods darker :) I also love the floral arrangement Joanna used on their entry table below. The arrangement makes the room seem bigger by giving it height and really anchoring the table.

Magnolia Market Fixer Upper Episode 2 EntryThe kitchen remodel was also a gorgeous touch.  They really lightened the room with white cabinets and a gorgeous granite counter top. Adding recessed lighting helped to brighten the room too. I would have never thought to use black subway tile as a backsplash but they really pulled off this look well!

Check out more of their great designs here! And don’t forget to tune into Fixer Upper!  I love watching these types of shows to get inspiration and ideas for my own home – but this has to be my new all-time favorite!
